A Special Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Thursday, April 25, 2002 at 5:15 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag.

Others Present:                      Dennis J. Bow, City Manager

                                                Edward G. Henneke, City Attorney

 

MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

 

No public comment.

 

Closed Session – Motion by Johnson, seconded by Gault, that pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(d) to go into closed session to consider the purchase or lease of real property and to consider the option to purchase or lease real estate, and to consult with their attorney regarding pending litigation in connection with the case of Warda vs. the City of Flushing, as an open meeting would be detrimental to the financial effect of the city’s litigation or possible settlement.

            Nay:     None

            Motion Carried.

 

Adjourn:                      5:22 p.m.

 

Reconvene:                5:56 p.m.

 

Purchase of Real Property – Motion by Johnson, seconded by Gault, to instruct the City Manager to obtain an appraisal on the property discussed in closed session.
