Minutes
A Joint Workshop Meeting of the Flushing City Council, Planning Commission, Parks, Recreation, Environmental and Beautification Committee and Teen Committee was called to order on Monday, April 29, 2002 at 7:00 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

The Mayor thanked all committee members for attending the workshop to discuss capital improvement projects.
MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:
Elva Cook, 315 Sunnyside, addressed the Council and committee members.
The City Manager handed out a packet listing capital improvement projects, with priority ranking, cost estimate and potential funding. The goal of this meeting was to finalize this list and refer it to the Planning Commission for inclusion in the Master Plan. The highest priority projects are summarized below:

Paulette Maloney, Chairperson of the Teen Committee, requested that the skateboard park be moved up to immediate status and that Council allocate $50,000.00 per year for three (3) years to build the park. The Teen Committee has applied for grants but have been unsuccessful in receiving one. The Mayor requested that plans be submitted to the City Council.
