A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, March 24, 2003 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Approval of Agenda – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve the March 24, 2003 agenda as presented.

OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:
Elva Cook, 1459 Flushing Road, commented on several issues.
Jack Wheatley, Rowe, Inc., provided Council an update on current projects.
CONSENT AGENDA – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve City Council Minutes (February 24, 2003 Regular Meeting), City Council Minutes (February 24, 2003 Closed Meeting), March 10, 2003 Council Bills List and March 24, 2003 Council Bills List.

COMMUNICATIONS:
Flushing Fire Fighters Inc. – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Girard, to authorize the Flushing Fire Fighters to use Riverview Park and the City’s sound equipment on Saturday, April 19, 2003 to hold their annual Easter Egg Hunt.

REPORTS:
Parks, Recreation, Environmental and Beautification Committee – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve the request of the Parks, Recreation, Environmental and Beautification Committee to purchase two hundred fifty (250) River Birch trees from the Genesee Conservation District for distribution on Saturday, April 12, 2003 in recognition of Arbor Day.

Teen Committee – Motion by Gault, seconded by Bade, requesting the Teen Committee review the By-Laws and offer proposed revisions that will accommodate all of the committee members’ schedules.

ORDINANCES:
Chapter 30 – City Council – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to move to second reading and adoption the amendments to City of Flushing Ordinance No. 30.
