A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, April 26, 2004, at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Approval of Agenda – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve the April 26, 2004 agenda with the removal of item C-1, Sewer Rate Analysis, and C-2, Interlocal Trail Agreement.

            Motion Carried.

PUBLIC HEARINGS:

 

2004-2005 Proposed Budget – The City Manager reviewed the proposed budget for fiscal year 2004-2005.  The Mayor opened the public hearing to the audience.  Elva Cook, 1459 Flushing Rd., commented on the proposed budget and the Mayor closed the public portion of the hearing.

 

BID/AWARD PURCHASES:

 

Financial Audit – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to approve a contract with Dupuis & Ryden for auditing services for fiscal years 2004 - 2006 at a cost of  $16,750.00, $14,900.00, and $15,050.00 respectively.

            Nay:     None

            Motion Carried.

 

ORDINANCES:

 

Fence Ordinance Amendment – Motion by Bade, seconded by Szukhent, to move to first reading an amendment to Flushing City Ordinance 150 Section 69.

            Nay:     None

Senior Center Contribution – Motion by Johnson, seconded by Gault, to approve the 2003-2004 contribution in the amount of Six Thousand ($6,000.00) Dollars to support the Flushing Area Senior Center.
