A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, May 9, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

PRESENTATIONS:
The Mayor presented a proclamation to Julie Jensen, acknowledging her accomplishment in earning the Girl Scout Gold Award. Proclamations were also presented to Elise Thompson, Samantha Kulis, Leanne Pratt, Jenna Dickinson, Jennifer Borrow, Kimberly Benson and Kathryn Simek for their accomplishments in earning the Girl Scout Silver Award.
CONSENT AGENDA – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to approve City Council Minutes (April 21, 2005 Special Meeting), City Council Minutes (April 25, 2005 Regular Meeting), City Council Minutes (April 25, 2005 Closed Session) and May 9, 2005 Council Bills List.

COMMUNICATIONS:
G.F.W.C. Flushing Women’s Club – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve the G.F.W.C. Flushing Women’s Club request to use Riverview Park for their 39th Annual Art in the Park on Saturday, June 4, 2005.

2005 Proposed Tax Levy – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Mark, to adopt the following 2005 millage rates: General Operating, 7.0020; Police Liaison; Capital Improvement, 3.0914; total, 10.5934.

APPOINTMENTS:
Flushing Area Senior Citizens, Inc. – Appointments to the Board of Directors – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to appoint Bob Fate, Edith Decker, Dorothy Flory, Bob McTaggart and Mary Hackett to serve as the Flushing Area Senior Citizens, Inc. Board of Directors until December 31, 2005.
