A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, June 13, 2005, at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Century 21 Woodland Realty and Flushing Baseball, Inc. – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve Century 21 Woodland Realty and Flushing Baseball, Inc.’s request to use Eastview Veterans’ Memorial Park on August 26 through August 27, 2005 for a Junior Home Run Derby. The funds raised will be used for the benefit of Easter Seals.

Fiscal Year 2005 Budget Adjustments – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve the fiscal year 2005 budget adjustments as presented by the City Clerk/Treasurer.

BID/AWARD
PURCHASES:
2005 Street Paving Project – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to accept Lois Kay Contracting’s bid for the 2005 Street Paving Project in the amount of $512,268.30. The streets included in the 2005 project are:
Wilcox Street (existing gravel) - 520 feet
McKinley Road (N of Coutant) - 2,700 feet
Marguerite Street (existing gravel) - 350 feet
Mildred Street (existing gravel) - 900 feet
Oakwood Drive (entire length) - 1,350 feet

City Manager’s Compensation – The City Manager requested a Council evaluation both in closed and open session, as allowed under the Open Meetings Act.
