A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, July 11, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

PRESENTATIONS:
Reverend Mary Lloyd of Community Hope Church of God addressed Council relative to her involvement with the youth of the community and the skateboard park that has been created in the parking lot of the church.
CONSENT AGENDA – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve City Council Minutes June 13, 2005 Regular Meeting, City Council Minutes June 13, 2005 Closed Session, June 27, 2005 Council Bills List and July 11, 2005 Council Bills List.

REPORTS:
Leaf Collection Equipment Rental – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve the rental of a 20-yard rear load garbage collection truck, for the Fall 2005 leaf collection, from Bell Equipment Company, in the amount of $5,500.00 per month.

Villas of Beacon Point – Master Deed – Motion by Gault, seconded by Mark, to approve the Master Deed for the Villas of Beacon Point Condominiums, subject to the receipt of a two-year guarantee bond for the road asphalt, and construction of the sidewalks as each unit is completed.

Streetlighting Contract – 90 E. Main Street – Motion by Bade, seconded by Gault, to approve the resolution providing Authorization For Change In Standard Contract with Consumers Energy to permit the installation of two (2) street lights at the southwest corner of Maple and Main Streets.

West Pierson Road – Contract with Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) – Motion by Bade, seconded by Gault, to approve the contract with MDOT for the West Pierson Road, from Seymour to the west corporate limits, project, and authorize the Mayor and City Clerk/Treasurer to sign the contract on behalf of the city.

PURCHASES:
2005 Sidewalk Bids – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to award the 2005 sidewalk project to Donaldson & Sons Inc., Flushing, Michigan, at a rate for removal and replacement of $5.25 for 4 inch and $6.50 for 6 inch, and at a rate of $3.85 for new 4 inch, $4.50 for new 6 inch, and $22.00 per linear foot for curb cut.

John Deere Mowing Tractor – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to award the bid for a John Deere mowing tractor with a 72 inch mowing deck to J & D, Burton, Michigan, in the amount of $16,183.03.
