A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, March 12, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Addition to Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to add Archie Bailey vs. City of Flushing, as a closed session.

Consent Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Kozan, to approve City Council Minutes (February 12, 2007 Regular Meeting), February 22, 2007 Council Bills List, and March 12, 2007 Council Bills List.

REPORTS:
Transportation Improvement Projects Resolution - Motion by Bade, seconded by Gault, to approve resolution number 07-0312, a resolution approving submittal of Coutant Street - from McKinley to Luce Street, Terrace Street - from River Road to Main Street, and McKinley Road - from Main Street to the Department of Public Works facility, into the Transportation Improvement Projects programming.

Joint Meeting - A joint meeting of the Flushing City Council and Flushing Charter Township Board was set for Wednesday, March 28, 2007 at 7:00 p.m.
Senior Millage - Resolution - Motion by Gault, seconded by Gentine, to approve a resolution presented by the Genesee County Board of Commissioners requiring all communities to maintain funding that was in place prior to the approval of the Senior Millage, with the addition of a paragraph stating the City's disapproval of taxing residents twice for senior services.

Closed Session - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, that pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(c), to go into closed session to consider strategy connected with negotiations of a collective bargaining agreement.

Closed Session - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, that, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(e), Council go into closed session to consult with the City's attorney regarding trial or settlement strategies in connection with the case Bailey vs. City of Flushing, as an open meeting would have a detrimental financial effect on the city's litigation or settlement position.
