A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, July 16, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Excused Absence - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gentine, to excuse the absence of Councilpersons Salem and Gault.

Approval of Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve the July 16, 2007 agenda.

COMMUNICATIONS:
Letter of Resignation – A letter of resignation from the Flushing Senior Citizens Board of Directors was received from Kaye M. Brisson. The vacancy will be advertised in the Flushing Observer, and appointment made by Councilperson Salem.
REPORTS:
Michigan Municipal League Convention – Communication was received regarding the Michigan Municipal League’s Convention to be held on September 18-20, 2007. Council members planning to attend must contact the City Manager’s office prior to the next City Council meeting.
BID/AWARD
PURCHASES:
2007 Sidewalk Bids – Motion by Gentine, seconded by Bade, to award the 2007-2008 sidewalk project to Fessler & Bowman, Inc., Flushing, Michigan, in the amount of $4.43 for 4” remove and replace, $5.21 for 6” remove and replace, $4.10 for 4” new, $4.45 for 6” new, and $8.10/linear foot for curb cuts.
