A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, October 22, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Excused Absence – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to excuse the absence of Councilperson Bade.

Motion Carried.

Approval of Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve the October 22, 2007 agenda.

MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

Elva Cook, 1459 Flushing Road addressed City Council.

Consent Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve City Council Minutes (October 8, 2007 Regular Meeting) and October 22, 2007 Council Bills List.

BID/AWARD PURCHASES:

City Tree Trimming and Stump Removal – Motion by Gault, seconded by Salem, to award the bid to provide tree trimming ($75.00/hour) and stump removal ($3.50/inch) services to Advanced Tree Care, Fenton, Michigan.

Yea: Brock, Gault, Kozan, Salem, Szukhent, Gensel

Motion Carried.

Seymour Road Boring and Casing Installation – Motion by Kozan, seconded by Gault, to award the low bid from Cataldo, Inc., New Lothrop, Michigan, in the amount of $8,450.00 for the boring and installation of a casing under Seymour Road, north of Main Street, for storm water drainage.

Closed Session:

Purchase of Real Estate – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Kozan, that, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(d), to go into closed session to consider the purchase or lease of real property or the option to purchase or lease real property.
