A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, December 10, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Excused Absence – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to excuse the absence of Councilperson Gault.

Approval of Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Kozan, to approve the December 10, 2007 agenda.

PURCHASES:
Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing – Motion by Bade, seconded by Salem, to award the bid to provide Whole Effluent Toxicity Testing services for the Wastewater Treatment Plant to Paragon Laboratories, Inc., Livonia, Michigan, for an amount not to exceed $8,050.00.

Police Vehicles – Motion by Kozan, seconded by Brock, to authorize the purchase of two (2) Dodge Charger police cars, through the state bid process, for an amount not to exceed $21,879.37 per vehicle.

Sign Ordinance Study Committee – A revision to the Sign Ordinance was referred to the Planning Commission.

Labor Negotiations – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to go into closed session under the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(c), to consider negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement.
