A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, January 14, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Flushing Lions Club – Motion by Bade, seconded by Brock, to approve the Flushing Lions Club request to use Riverview Park on Tuesday, August 12, 2008 for the Kelly Miller Circus.

Riverbend Striders – Motion by Bade, seconded by Salem, to approve the Riverbend Striders Running Club request to hold their 2008 running and walking series: January 19, 2008 – Snowflake Run and Walk, February 16, 2008 – Sweetheart Run and Walk, March 8, 2008 – Shillelagh Four Mile Run & Walk, March 29, 2008 – Flushing Half Marathon and 5K Run/Walk, April 12, 2008 – Tax Trot, and June 4, 2008 – 5K race in conjunction with the Chamber of Commerce Oldies Festival.
