A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, February 11, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

COMMUNICATIONS:
Flushing Fire Department – Request to Use Riverview Park for Community Easter Egg Hunt – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Brock, to approve the Flushing Fire Department’s request to use Riverview Park for an Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, March 22, 2008.

Michigan Municipal League Capital Conference – The Michigan Municipal League will hold its spring conference in Lansing on April 1-2, 2008. Councilpersons planning on attending were asked to notify the City Manager’s assistant.
REPORTS:
Streetlighting – Cedarwood Drive – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to adopt a resolution to make changes in the streetlighting services, as provided by Consumers Energy, with the installation of three (3) new streetlights on Cedarwood Drive.

Precinct Boundary Adjustment – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Brock, to adopt a resolution supporting precinct boundary adjustments within District Four (4).

Information Systems and Electronic Mail Retention Policy – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to approve an Information Systems and Electronic Mail Retention Policy, which will become part of the City of Flushing Administrative Code.

Riverview Park Facilities and Grounds Use Guidelines – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Brock, to postpone action on the Riverview Park Facilities and Grounds Use Guidelines until further information is provided by administration.
