A Regular Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, February 25, 2008 at 7:30 p.m. by Mayor Janice L. Gensel, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

Approval of Agenda - Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve the February 25, 2008 agenda.

Michigan Municipal League (MML) Capital Conference – Council Attendance – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve expenses for Councilpersons expecting to attend the Michigan Municipal League Capital Conference April 1-2, 2008.

Michigan Emergency Management Assistance Compact – Motion by Bade, seconded by Szukhent, to approve Resolution No. 08-0225, a resolution adopting the Michigan Emergency Management Assistance Compact.

Poverty Exemption Guidelines – Motion by Bade, seconded by Gault, to approve the resolution to adopt guidelines for poverty exemptions, including the level of assets that may be exempt ($150,000.00).

Disposition of Real Estate – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Bade, to approve the resolution authorizing the sale of 404 Elm Street. This resolution to remain on file with the City Clerk for twenty-five (25) days before final adoption.

Great Lakes Barbecue Association – Resolution of Support – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to approve a resolution recognizing the Great Lakes Barbecue Association to be recognized as a non-profit organization operating in the community for the purpose of obtaining a Charitable Gaming License.

Parks and Recreation Committee – Motion by Bade, seconded by Gault, to approve the appointment of Timothy Mauer to the Parks and Recreation Committee.
