A Special Meeting of the Flushing City Council was called to order on Monday, April 26, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. by Mayor George G. Kozan, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag and invocation.

MEETING OPEN TO THE PUBLIC:

 

Elva Cook, 1459 Flushing Road, addressed City Council.

 

ORDINANCES:

 

Sign Ordinance – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to approve a second reading and adoption of an amendment to Section 156.15.1, Non-Conforming Existing Signs, of the city’s Sign Ordinance.

 

            Yea:     Brock, Gault, Martus, Salem, Szukhent, Kozan

            Nay:     None

            Motion Carried.

 

Closed Session:

 

Labor Negotiations – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Salem, to go into closed session pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(c), to consider negotiations on a collective bargaining agreement.

 

            Yea:     Brock, Gault, Martus, Salem, Szukhent, Kozan

            Nay:     None

            Motion Carried.

 

Lease Consideration – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Brock, that, pursuant to the Open Meetings Act compiled laws 15.268(d), to go into closed session to consider the purchase or lease of real property, or the option to purchase or lease real property.

 

            Yea:     Brock, Gault, Martus, Salem, Szukhent, Kozan

            Nay:     None

            Motion Carried.

Lease Consideration – Motion by Szukhent, seconded by Gault, to instruct the city manager to proceed with negotiations regarding a lease, as discussed in closed session.

            Motion Carried.
